These drawings are personal. They travel with me to other cities, along the coast during a hike and to the neighborhood cafes in San Francisco. I draw while listening to music, podcasts, other conversations around me and sometimes just pure silence.
Though my recent drawings are created anywhere but the studio, they all have a common theme. I'm mesmerized by the ocean. I spend a lot of time on the coast trying to captivate every detail. I take notes about the sound, textures and overall feeling. I wonder how does this moment translate to a texture and can it be properly articulated in one painting?
